GENERALWhat do I wear?Entry to general admission areas of the racecourse require guests to be neatly dressed. Footwear and a shirt must be worn at all times. What time do gates open?Gates open at 10:30am unless otherwise specified How much is general admission to the racecourse?Midweek: Saturdays/Public Holidays (from 10/12/05): Subject to change over Brisbane Racing Carnival , Melbourne Cup and other feature race meetings. What time is the first race?First race time varies. The race times are confirmed up to 3 weeks ahead of the nominated meeting. Generally the first race will be between 11:45am & 1:00pm. There are usually 8 races throughout the day, ranging from 30-40 minutes apart. Can I bring alcohol onto the racecourse?As City Pacific Doomben is fully licenced, your are not permitted to bring alcohol into the venue. There are ample facilities provided to purchase alcoholic drinks on the day. City Pacific Doomben practices the responsible service of alcohol. Security will check bags and eskies at the gate. Any non compliant items will be confiscated. It's raining - how do I find out if the races are still being held?In the event of inclement weather, radio TAB (AM 1008) will keep you informed as to whether BTC will cancel the race day or simply call the Club direct on (07) 3268 6800. In the event that the BTC abandonds a race meeting before gates open, and you have pre-purchased general admission, your tickets will be honoured on an alternative raceday. Should a raceday be abandoned on the booked raceday, no refunds will be made. The booking will continue and all associated racing services will be provided on all other Australian centres. Do I need to pre-book my general admission tickets?General racecourse admission tickets for each race meeting are available at the racecourse turnstile entrance points - there is no need to pre-book or pre-purchase these tickets. During the Brisbane Racing Carnival & Melbourne Cup Days, tickets can be pre purchased at attended QR train stations. Groups of 20 or more can pre-purchase tickets at 50% off the general admission price. During the Brisbane Racing Carnival & Melbourne Cup Race Days, the minimum requirement for discounted general admission tickets will be 40 (subject to change). Should you wish to pre-purchase your general admission, this can be done by contacting the BTC office during regular business hours: Monday to Friday 8:30am - 4:30pm (07 3268 6800) or email: marketing@doomben.com. How do I get to City Pacific Doomben - driving, taxi or by public transport?Driving : Free parking is available for the public in the centre of the track. Access to this car park is Via Gate 1 on Nudgee Road, Ascot. Public Transport : Trains and buses run regularly and timetables can be viewed by clicking here. Taxis : Taxi set down and pick up at the main entrance to City Pacific Doomben on Hampden Street, Ascot. Can I bring my children to the races? Are there any restrictions?Children 17 years and under are welcome at all race meetings and receive complimentary admission. City Pacific Doomben is a licensed venue. All minors 17 years and under must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times whilst in the venue. The Club's policy is that a responsible adult is a parent or an authorised guardian of the minor. Liquor Licensing can issue fines to minors not accompanied by a responsible adult. SmokingAs City Pacific Doomben is a public venue and is subject to venue smoking laws, smoking will only be permitted in designated smoking areas. Fines will be issued by Health Officials in non smoking areas. Where is lost property?Lost property is located in the main office at BTC. Lost property items are stored for a period of 3 months and will then be donated to charity. All enquiries regarding lost property should be directed to (07) 3268 6800. Cloak RoomThe Cloak Room is located in the General Office and operates each raceday. The Cloak Room closes just after the running of the last Brisbane Race. Can I reserve outdoor tables and chairs?The outdoor tables and chairs are freely available to all general admission guests on a first-come, first-served basis, they are not able to be reserved. For health and safety reasons the outdoor umbrellas are locked into place and are not able to be relocated. MEMBERSCan I purchase 'Members Enclosure' tickets if I am not a member?Non-members can purchase a "Member for a Day" pass for $50 per person at the entrance gate (not valid during the Brisbane Racing Carnival or Melbourne Cup). Current BTC Members are able to purchase Members guest tickets that will allow non-members access to the Members area. What are the dress regulations for the Members Enclosure?Please click here for Members' Enclosure dress regulations Can children go into the Members Enclosure?Children may enter the Members' Enclosure when accompanied by a responsible adult who is in possession of a Member's Enclosure Ticket. Children must be in the IMMEDIATE presence of a responsible adult AT ALL TIMES while within the Members' Enclosure area. How many Members' guest passes is a Member allowed to purchase?Members' may purchase, on presentation of their members medallion, an unlimited number of guest tickets for City Pacific Doomben race meetings throughout the year @ $25 each, excluding the Brisbane Racing Canival and Melbourne Cup day. Members guest tickets on these days is currently set at $110 each. RESTAURANTS & PRIVATE VENUESI want to have my hens or bucks day at the races - where is the best place to book?Groups of 20 or more can book a pagoda or peg & pole on the St Leger Lawn or book the Homestraight Lawn function area. Where are the private boxes and how many people do they hold?Private Boxes are located on the 3rd floor of our public grandstand. Boxes accomodate groups of 6, 20, 30 or 50. I have lost my tickets - what should I do?General admission tickets cannot be replaced. Function tickets are numbered and therefore once reported lost or stolen, those tickets will not be valid at City Pacific Doomben and replacement tickets will be issued.
